The Governing Board of Rode Heath Primary School
The Governing Board of Rode Heath Primary School comprises:
(You can visit the Governors Profiles page to put faces to names!)
All governors have a shared responsibility and work as a team, although to manage its workload most effectively and to draw on the specific expertise of individual members, the governing board delegates many of its functions to: a sub-committee, an individual governor, or to the head teacher. The governing board as a whole, however, always remains accountable for any decisions taken including those delegated to a committee or an individual. You can download a copy of our charter and instrument of governance at the bottom of this page.
Within Rode Heath’s Governing Board specific responsibilities are also allocated to individual governors for: Health and Safety, Website, Special Educational Needs, Safeguarding, Disadvantaged Children and Pupil Premium. Additionally, there are governor links associated with school priorities to provide support and challenge, including literacy, numeracy and parent engagement.
The full Governing Board of Rode Heath Primary School meets six times a year, once each half-term, with additional meetings over and above this if necessary. The Chairman and their deputy are elected by the governors at the first meeting of each academic year, or as required. There are always plenty of other adhoc activities that need doing throughout the school year too - writing this very page, for example!
The dates for the Full Governing Board meetings for the current academic year are: Monday 16th October 2023, Thursday 7th December 2023, Monday 29th January 2024, Thursday 21st March 2024, Monday 13th May 2024 and Thursday 4th July 2024.
